Lodging Choices Tip
Dutch side or French side, what is better?
This really depends on your style of vacation. If you prefer nightlife, spend or win some money at casinos, like hanging out at bars, then the Dutch part is right for you. And you may want to stay close by at a rental property at Simpson Bay or at Cupecoy.
If you are more into a quiet life, enjoy great food, and love spending the day at a fabulous beach, may be even at a topless or "less" beach, then the French side is the place to go. See here for lodging options.

Oyster Pond is an active Yacht harbor with great views towards St. Barth.
Small bars, ice cream parlors, and "watering holes" just everywhere!
There are plenty more small restaurants, roadside trailers for fast food, small bars, and mobile stands selling beverages and styrofoam container food. Some might be good and prices attractive, some, we tend to warn you as hygienic conditions might be off common standards. There are also areas, which are less safe!
On the pondfill road at the Northern edge of Philipsburg: An old airplane has even been converted to a restaurant. You see it, when you enter Philipsburg on Bush Road.
There are plenty of nightlife places, which are not covered here. You may or may not want to see casinos, adult shows, brothels, and all type of establishments on the Dutch side.
